If God is an Ocean, I Am a Wave

18 years ago, during my first semester of graduate school, this beautiful poem flew into my head while driving through the university parking lot. It filled my entire being with light. I remember the sun was setting and the parking lot was quiet. I pulled over to jot it down. It’s a moment I’ll never forget.

Around the same time, I began finger-painting with acrylics in my journal, and this was one of my first efforts. A few years later, I integrated the art and writing into a postcard which has been shared with thousands of people.

The God is an Ocean poem continues to inspire me and has been quite lively in my consciousness lately.  I hope it brings you as much joy as it brings me.  Please share it with anyone you feel to.

Love,

Debbie
